Yu sheng is a Chinese salad unique to Singapore that is eaten to celebrate the start of Chinese New Year. It is made with shredded fresh vegetables, pickled vegetables, nuts, candied fruit, crackers and plum sauce. Each ingredient has an accompanying wish for the New Year.
